Personal Statement

I believe in the soft realities - the power of connection, the balance of love and work, how the mind, body, and spirit collaborate to inform us of who we are and how we are living our lives. Living from the inside out is about valuing who you are separate from who others want you to be and learning to live authentically from that place. It is about thoughtfully creating a space that offers comfort, beauty, and peace because what we surround ourselves with reflects how we think, feel, and move in the world. When we discover how to live from the inside out, we light the way for others to do the same, we are more present for ourselves and our relationships, and more calm in the face of uncertainty or adversity.  

Credentials

I graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine in 1993. Appreciating the value psychology places on the journey of the individual, I completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Loyola College in Maryland in 1998.  I believe there is an art to psychotherapy that involves more than just technique or education. I approach each therapeutic encounter with a belief that we are all fellow travelers. I strive to create physical space that is inviting while seeking to connect through empathy, compassion, and spirit.  

I am loyal to my beautiful home state of Maine while also embracing the tropical landscape and magic of Marco Island. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maine, and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I have a private practice in both locations.
